1。 Introduction

Virginia Woolf, who lived in early 20th century, sculpted her name in the history of literature as well as feminism。 She grew up in an upper-middle-class, socially active, literary family in Victorian London。 She had three full sibling, two half-brothers and two half-sisters。 Her mother’s death gave a great blow to her and made her depressed for the rest of her life。 He was educated at home from the resources of her father’s huge library。 In 1912, Leonard, who was a writer in the field of economic, became her husband。 In 1917, The Hogarth Press was set up。 Then their home, which was known as the Bloomsbury Group, became a gathering place for a circle of artist, critics and writers。 Her life experience had a great effect on her writing。 In literary history as feminist and modernist of the twentieth century, She makes great contribution and is seen as the pioneer of the feminism。 Her novels, Mrs。 Dalloway (1925), To the Lighthouse (1927) and Orlando (1928), A Room of One's Own (1929), show her exact ideas。 What’s more, her famous dictum that A woman, who wants to write fiction, must have money and a room of her own。 Mrs。 Dalloway, as one of her best-known novels, details a day in the life of Clarissa Dalloway。 In addition, it is a good example to convey the author’s conceptions and attitudes of feminism, such as the incurable trauma of human being, especially that of women which caused by the Great War; the self-awareness of women and the desire of the equality between the sexes。 As one of Virginia Woolf’s most remarkable novels, Mrs。 Dalloway conveys her feminist propositions。 The thesis is intended to explore the female consciousness in Mrs。 Dalloway from two perspectives: firstly, the reflection on the war from female perspective and secondly, the heroine Clarissa’s feminist consciousness about rights and marriage。论文网
