On the Application of Game Playing in Middle School English Teaching
I。Introduction
In recent years, with the rapid development of economy and the strengthening of international competition, the demand for talent is in a rising trend, which has become a common problem around the world。 Exploration of the cultivation of talent has also become an important content of the current national talent program in China。 As the language foundation of the current international compound talent training, English gradually draws attention of sociologists, psychologists and educationalists。 As a key period of English language ability ascension, middle school English education has become an important subject。 With social demand for English and schools’ emphasis on English teaching increasing, requirement of the teachers’ teaching ability has been put forward to a new and higher level。 But the current middle school English teaching practice has a single form, monotonous teaching content and class organization problems, such as paying too much attention on the form。 Thus, how to explore the new methods of students’ English learning, enhance students’ English learning interest, and improve the teaching effectiveness gradually becomes a focus of education and theory research in China。 Therefore, this paper is of great significance to the research of the effective teaching methods in middle school English teaching。
As a basic teaching method, game teaching method plays an important role in stimulating students’ interest in learning English and improving teachers’ teaching quality。 It is the product of the combination of class education and games under the new curriculum standards, and gradually becomes one of the important forms of modern middle school classroom education。 As a revolutionary change of modern education, it has broken many traditional standards and ways of thinking, and pushed the further development of education theory of teaching through lively activities; at the same time, it is the first time to combine English teaching with the game so closely。 Therefore, if we can achieve effective application of game teaching method in middle school English teaching and combine English teaching with games, it will play an important role in improving students’ English learning interest and make English teaching interesting and provide more effective support in technology and method for middle school English teaching reform in our country。文献综述

In our country, the history of the game teaching method is much longer。 As children’s favorite activity, game has the same status with learning。 In the process of the reform in teaching methods in our country, the game teaching method has got the attention of many researchers from the ancient to the modern。 And the game teaching method plays an important role in the existing education。
In this paper, the author takes middle school English teaching as an example, to discuss the implication of Game Teaching Method by mean of questionnaire。 The whole paper is pided into five parts。 First, it introduces the research background and the overseas and domestic research status。 Chapter two is an overview of game teaching method, including its definition, aim, the factors influencing the effectiveness of game teaching method and ways to ensure the effectiveness of game teaching method。 The application of games in middle school English teaching is discussed in Chapter Three。 Then by mean of questionnaire, the author carries out a research on the effectiveness of game teaching method in middle school English teaching, with 46 students of each class respectively from Class 3 and Class 4, Grade 7 of Yuanbaoshan District Middle School, Chifeng City as the research objects, and gets some pedagogical implications according to the results。
