高跷发展现状调查豫西伏牛山区，伊河与龙潭河的交汇处，坐落着一个环境优美、民风淳朴的城关镇——嵩县。嵩县赵元存集曲艺、音乐。舞蹈于一体的民舞表演——高跷，它作为河南的一个特有的艺术种类，是我国民族艺术史上的一朵奇葩，它以浓郁的乡土气息和慷慨激昂的旋律，深受广大人民群众的喜爱。随着社会的发展，文化生活的日益丰富和审美取向的改变以及对传统文化的忽视，在一定程度上阻碍了嵩县高跷的传承与创新。虽然有关嵩县高跷的创作和演出仍有进行,且偶尔有较好的作品出现,但观众的流失和市场的萎缩却是不容忽视的。嵩县高跷要摆脱生存窘况和发展困境,需要有效的保护和扶持,为其营造出适合生存与发展的环境,使高跷得以更好的传承与创新
