Kavous Ardalan还认为金融学临床研究上升到比较抽象的理论角度即是临床方法开始于不用从外部观察现实，应该尝试从内部去了解它。尽管科学家可以从一定的距离运用科学的方法观察到的现象，但是临床科学家可以直接的和非结构化的接触该现象，会使得到的信息更全面。他还将这种金融经济学中的临床诊断方法抽象称为解释性范式。
