2。3。3 Aesthetic Representation

Generally, aesthetic representation follows the following procedures: comprehension; transformation; improvement and representation。 (刘宓庆, 2012:183) Comprehension means fully cognizing the aesthetic constituents and it is the foundation of the final representation。 Transformation, whose basic mechanism is “empathy”, plays an intermediary role that connects two languages。 The sentiments of aesthetic evaluation from the previous two steps are persified and complex, so it is unwise and impossible for the translator to represent all of them, therefore discarding the gross, selecting the essentials, casting off the falseness and retaining the truth are necessary techniques to translators。 “Selection” or “optimization” is a decisive step in the process of aesthetic improvement。 Aesthetic representation is the final actualization of all aesthetic activities and it finally transforms the original text into a target text that approaches the aesthetic effects as much as possible。 The key to the aesthetic representation is to comprehend the essence of SL deeply and bring the translator’s subjective initiatives into full play。
