A Survey on the Use of Multimedia in Primary School English Class
Abstract Multimedia teaching exerts positive effects such as creates better English learning environment; expand students’ mind; enhance learning efficiency in a large extent; build the cognitive schema of students。 This dissertation takes the case of Wenyi primary school, in which I did two month internship in Hang Zhou, chooses the English classes in this primary school to do research。 Participants includes 106 students from class1, 2 and 3 in Grade 5, and three teachers。 The research are done by design classroom observation, questionnaire in the situation about applying multimedia in primary English class。
It turns out that with the help of multimedia, teacher can stimulate the learning interest of students; enhance the creativity of classroom; boost students’ confidence; active classroom atmosphere。 It also build harmonious environment for teacher to assist them improve the efficiency of teaching。 However, although there are tremendous benefits in applying multimedia teaching during the investigation, there are still some drawbacks。 For example, it reduces the communication between teachers and students; teacher depend so much on the multimedia devices; students could not get the essence of lessons because of multimedia devices。 Therefore, there are some solutions for the disadvantages to enhance the effectiveness of multimedia。 Lastly, it shows conclusion and suggestions to the insufficient of the paper, the future direction of the research as well。 89418
Our goal is to put the practice into theory and get feedback from the teaching practice。 To analyze and provide some teaching suggestions as well as standard multimedia teaching to ensure the teaching quality。 We try our best to enable multimedia become an effective tool for learning and offer learners the most effective way to gain knowledge。

摘 要多媒体教学有利于创设良好的英语学习环境,拓展学生的思维空间,大幅度提高课堂教学效率,建构学生认知图式。本文以在杭州文一街小学政苑校区进行了为期两个月的实习,于是选取该小学的英语课进行个案分析。研究对象为五年级1、2、3班的106名学生及三位英语老师,通过设计课堂观察、问卷调查就多媒体在小学英语教学中的应用现状进行调查研究。
结果表明,老师在多媒体辅助英语教学中,能够激发学生学习英语的兴趣,并能提高学生在课堂上的积极性、增强学生的自信心,活跃课堂气氛;多媒体的使用还能创建和谐环境,帮助老师提高上课效率。但在调查过程中发现多媒体运用在小学英语教学中虽有其优势,但也显现不少弊端,如削弱了师生间的沟通;老师太依赖于多媒体;学生不能取其精华。因此,根据研究过程中多媒体运用在教学中出现的问题提出了相关策略,能更好地提高英语教学的有效性。最后总结与反思,指出了本文研究的结论及不足,并指出了未来研究方向。
我们的宗旨是从教学实践中来,再应用到教学实践中去,通过教学实践的反馈,进行总结与分析,提出一些建议,规范多媒体英语教学,保证英语教学的质量,使得多媒体为英语教学提供强有力的学习工具和方法,给英语学习者带来有效的学习方法和乐趣。
