1。2 The background and significance of the research

During my internship in Xuejun Primary School, there is one common problem in nearly all of the new teachers’ classes that our teacher talk is far away from the standards, which leads to the bad result that on the one hand, the students cannot have a good understanding of what we teach, on the other hand, we will easily put ourselves in an embarrassed situation。 For example, in one of the new teachers’ English class, we can hear the word “good” as the feedback more than 20 times。 From the perspective of students’ psychological recognition, they want themselves to be different and unique。 Always with the same response will decrease their passion and eagerness to voice themselves。 Thus, it is of great importance for us to improve our teacher talk, not only for us inexperienced teachers, but also for those experienced teachers, because many of the experienced teachers don’t pay much attention to Teacher Talk, or some experienced teachers still use what they used years ago or even decades ago。 For example, one experienced teacher’s class is always the same with no much different utterances for different classes。 His students are so familiar with his way of teaching that some of them are always out of mind for they know what the teacher will say or do next。 Teacher Talk is not only the intermediary language, but also the target language to teach and it should be a little bit beyond the present level of students’ English competence instead of changeless。 来自优Y尔L论W文Q网wWw.YouERw.com 加QQ7520~18766

As for us inexperienced teachers, it is more urgent to improve the Teacher Talk out of the reason that only with proper teacher talk, can we make our whole class go smoothly and make ourselves confident as well as natural。 As for those experienced teachers, they should not regard it as nothing important, after all, students are not what they were years ago or decades ago。 Not only teaching contents and methods are developing all the time, Teacher Talk should also be improved with the development of educational philosophy。 

Teacher Talk is the bridge that connects the teacher and students to communicate and understand。 Truly speaking, class should be regarded as somewhere pure and pine for there exists the collision of perceptions which is mainly transported by Teacher Talk。 English Teacher Talk is also related to SLA (Second Language Acquisition) theory。 English, as the only international language in the world, becomes more and more important in China。 Nevertheless, in English classes, there are always Chinese teachers who teach English without true understanding of western culture。 Language is a subject that is totally different with other subjects especially in its cultural background。 Without a deep understanding of its culture and history, all what we learn or teach is the tip of the iceberg, which is one of the main reasons of the failures of Teacher Talk both in new teacher’s classes and in experienced teacher’s。

1。3 The structure of the research

 The research consists of the following aspects: literature review, the major pitfalls of teacher’s talk existed in new teachers’ classes, the differences between inexperienced teachers’ classes and experienced teachers’ and the inspiration for English teaching。

Chapter one is the introduction of the research that includes the present status of Teacher Talk, the background and significance of the research, the research questions and the structure of the research。 Chapter two will focus on literature review about Teacher Talk’s definition, clarification, features, as well as previous studies both at home and abroad。 As for chapter three, theoretical foundations will be discussed, including Krashen’s Input Hypothesis, Flanders Interaction Analysis System。 Chapter four deals with the research method consisting of research technique, subjects and data collection。 Chapter five is findings and discussion about the research method which includes the pitfalls of Teacher Talk, the differences between inexperienced teachers and experienced teachers。 As for chapter six, implications and conclusion will be drawn to reflect on and motivate some further thinking。 论文网 教师用语在小学英语教学中新教师与骨干教师间的对比研究(3):http://www.youerw.com/yingyu/lunwen_195664.html
