摘 要汉语叠词作为一种常见而特殊的语言现象,经常运用于各种文学作品和日常生活之中。文章主要分析了叠词的构成与功能,以及人们研究叠词英译的重要意义,并从功能对等这个翻译理论的角度切入,从大量的具体案例中对比探讨汉语叠词的英译方法,从而分析出汉语叠词英译的一般规律和特殊技巧,以期达到优美的译文效果,再现汉语叠词的魅力。本文对于人们更好地了解汉语叠词及其英译技巧有一定的积极意义。28550

Abstract The Chinese reduplicated words, as a common but particular linguistic phenomenon, are widely and constantly used in various literature works and people’s daily life. The thesis will explain the formation and function of the reduplicated words as well as the significance that people study the English translation of the Chinese reduplicated words, and will make the theory of equivalence an entry point to discuss the methods of the translation through a large amount of examples thus to conclude the general rules and the specific skills of the English translation of the reduplicated words so as to achieve the desired effects of the translation and remain the charm of the reduplicated words. And this thesis can play a constructive role in people’s understanding about the Chinese reduplicated words and their English strategies.

As a shining pearl in the Chinese language culture, the reduplicated word, which has appeared in many ancient literary works long ago, is absolutely a distinct part of Chinese. Meanwhile, the reduplicated word has strong vitality and enduring charm, and it suits both refined and popular tastes.
The reduplicated word, composed by two or more Chinese characters which are similar in semantic and have same forms, is explained as one type of the compounds in Wikipedia. This kind of definition is clear and easy to understand.
Many words such as nouns, verbs, adjectives, adverbs and numerals, can be used as reduplicated words. The formation of the Chinese reduplicated word can be pided into two categories, the several typical kinds are listed.
