摘 要礼貌是各语言、各文化所共有的普遍现象，它在人际交往中发挥着重要的作用，它有助于建立、维持和巩固和谐的关系，促进社会交往。礼貌原则是每个社会和个体广泛使用的交际手段，但是不同的文化赋予礼貌不同的内涵，因此本文对礼貌原则在中英文化中的表现作出简要的分析，首先阐明什么是礼貌原则及其作用，礼貌原则包括六条原则，其中最重要的的是策略准则。礼貌原则的作用是能够使谈话人之间保持一种友好关系而使谈话进行的顺利，接着分别分析礼貌原则在中英文化中的表现以及将二者进行对比，总的来说，本文意在通过对礼貌原则的分析提高人们的跨文化意识，促进跨文化交际的顺利进行。83674

Abstract    Politeness is a universal phenomenon ,for it can be observed in all languages and cultures 。It plays an important role in human communication; relationships and facilitate social interaction 。Politeness Principle is a communicative means widely used by society and inpiduals, but politeness has different connotation in different cultures。 Firstly, this paper will have a study of Politeness Principle。 The Politeness Principle contains six maxims ,the Tact Maxim is the most important one, The most important function of Politeness Principle is that it can help people communicate successfully by building a friendly relationship between the speakers, and than there will be a brief study on Politeness Principle in Chinese and Britain culture 。In a word ,the purpose of the paper is that strengthen the awareness of intercultural communication and  facilitate the smooth progress of intercultural communication。

Brief study on Politeness Principle in Chinese and Britain culture

I。 Introduction 

    In different country it has different cultures, so there will be different politeness。This paper attempts a brief study of the politeness differences between Chinese and native speaker of English。There are many such differences and we shall take up only those use frequently meets in our daily life such as greeting, daily topic, sense of time and space, etc, even so, we shall be able to deal with only a small number of the more common ones。论文网

Politeness as the basic norm of interpersonal communication, it is the basic condition that human can communicate successfully。 In different cultural backgrounds, there are differences in the way of thinking, concept of value, criterion of conduct。 So, there are different criterion and expression about politeness。 In a word, there is different  focus comprehension about Politeness Principle。

Leech elaborate politeness in his book Principle of Pragmatics from Grace’s Cooperative Principle。 He(1983) thinks that people sometimes disobey the CP maxims in order to express themselves politely in interaction。 Therefore he postulates the Politeness Principle and believes that it should be obeyed in communication。 Leech claims that the Cooperative Principle is insufficient to explain the indirectness in conversation, and ‘the Politeness Principle can be seen not just as another principle to be added to the Cooperative Principle。 But as its necessary complement which rescue the Cooperative Principle from serious trouble。 

Leech’s Politeness Principle could be stated as follows: other things being equal, minimizes the expression of beliefs which are unfavorable to the hearer and at the same time but less important maximize the expression of beliefs which are favorable to the hearer。

What’s more, although politeness is a universal phenomenon, when we admit the universal phenomenon of politeness, we have to realize the relativity of politeness。It’s means that,every country’s culture has some different, for example, social custom, criterion of conduct。 So, in this paper, we will have a clear understanding about the differences between Chinese and Britain culture, it means that different culture with different Politeness Principle, and this differences are developing with the social, religion, geography and other reasons。 礼貌原则在中英文化中的差异对比分析:http://www.youerw.com/yingyu/lunwen_98756.html
