1 Introduction
Scientific achievements have made much more contributions that stimulated the process of human history, which is obvious. Human beings have benefited significantly from science so far while scientists have played an important role in bringing new inventions that can rapidly improve our health, change our nations, our world, nature or industries, to our daily life and let us understand why the world is as we see it and how it came to be. They exhibit a strong curiosity about reality. The world is very different now for man holds in his mortal hands the power to abolish all forms of human poverty and all forms of human life.
Most scientists can be motivated by the above ways, however, some of them may be driven by recognition from their peers, prestige and social wealth etc. When we talk of recognition, prestige and social wealth etc. which our human beings have fought for and will fight for from the very beginning of human history till the end of the world, we must take it for granted to use science as a weapon to make more benefits. We will never be satisfied with the current stage we are at. The inside world and the outside world stimulates us to regard science and technologies as slavers to serve as much as possible. While anything is overdone side effects may happen instantly.
There are many papers studying the science fictions that reveal the relationship between science and human nature alienation. Take novel The Invisible Man by H.G Wells as example, the further discussion in this article emphasize the following three aspects: the relationship of the social environment and human alienation of protagonist, the relationship of the inner world and human alienation of protagonist, the relationship of the contradiction of science and human nature. Moreover, on the basis of the discussion, conclusions and suggestions on improvement of present scientific world and the prospect on the world in future will be released at the end of this essay.
The Invisible Man is a famous 1897 science fiction novel by H.G Wells. Wells’s novel was originally serialized in Person’s Magazine in 1987, and published as a novel the same year. The Invisible Man of the title is “Griffin”, a scientist who theorizes that if a person’s refractive index is changed to exactly that of air and his body does not absorb or reflect light, then he will not be visible. He successfully carries out this procedure on himself, but cannot become visible again, becoming mentally unstable as a result. An atmosphere of ever-increasing suspense begins with the arrival of a mysterious stranger at an English village inn and builds relentlessly to the stark terror of a victim pursued by a maniacal invisible man. At last the author inverted the story: 《隐形人》中科学与人性异化关系研究(2):http://www.youerw.com/yingyu/lunwen_28396.html
