I. Introduction
Daniel Defoe, who was British novelist, trader and journalist, the founder of the British realistic novel, was known as the father of European fiction. He was once a businessman, who ran the enterprise of underclothes, cigarettes and wine trade. He had lived through some difficulties, but he could save his enterprise every time after his failure. He showed us his stable determination to fight against his fate, and he could not be destroyed. All of those enterprises paved the way of thought and technique of the accomplishment of his masterpiece Robinson Crusoe .
Robinson Crusoe was first published on April 25, 1719. It is one of the most popular adventure novels in all literature works and it has been recognized as one of the most representative works in the 18th century. This novel is widely perceived to have been influenced by the life of Alexander Selkirk. It is the story of Robinson Crusoe who likes adventure very much.
Once he set off from the Queen’s Dock in Hull for a sea voyage, but failed to reach by the storm. The second voyage he was hijacked by pirates as a slave, and then escaped from Brazil. After that, in a voyage, he was shipwrecked in a remote and uninhabited island. He used tools from the wrecked ship to build house, grow his own food, and became self-sufficient. After 23 years he met with a group of cannibals and rescued one of their prisoners, a young native who was called Friday. And then Friday became his slavery and they were finally rescued four years later, and then returned to England. 论《鲁滨逊漂流记》中的个人主义:http://www.youerw.com/yingyu/lunwen_35648.html
