摘要节日作为民族文化中的一个重要部分,是一个民族生存形态最突出、最具特色的展示。本文拟通过对英美一些重要节日及其近些年来的变迁进行简要介绍,并对其不同文化上的渊源及其文化内涵加以分析,使我们更客观的认识和理解西方文化,以此提高跨文化交际的能力。本文共分为优尔部分,第一部分为全文的简介,第二、三部分是对节日变迁及诱因的介绍,第四部分将分析节日变迁的文化内涵,接下来将分析英美节日对中国文化的影响,最后为文章作出总结。40809

Abstract As an important part of national culture, festival is the most prominent and unique representation of national survival form. This paper will provide brief introduction to main festivals in British &American, and analyze their changes through all these years, explore their different cultural origins and connotation, in this way, we could understand western culture better in more objective way, as a result, our ability of cross-cultural communication will be improved. This paper will be pided into five parts, the first part is the general introduction to the article, the second part will introduce the changes of festivals, the third part will analyze the causes on the changes of festivals, the fourth part will explain cultural connotation of festivals, then the influence of western festival on Chinese will be analyzed and the last part will give conclusion to the paper.

Ⅰ. Introduction
Festival is a group activity for human beings, as well as a kind of cultural phenomenon. As an important section of human culture, it manifests a nation’s cultural characteristics and brilliance deeply and comprehensively. Therefore, it possessed prominent significance on theory and practice research to study on festival and festival culture.
Separately speaking, British and American festivals are based on the solar calendar, they are mainly tragedy-oriented, for example, ancient Greek culture are tragic-conscious, Christian culture are sin conscious.
