Certainly ,it’s just a small part of the studies represented in this paper. However, they really give me much help of accomplishing the thesis. Of course, with the development of society, the cultural connotations of color terms are changing all the time, hence, there is still great space to expanded and explored on the studying of color terms. It requires more updated and consistent efforts in the future.
As a kind of cultural determiner, color words can reflect the cultural characteristics of a race or society, therefor, it is imperative to accurately interpreted them especially under the circumstance of the increasing communication and cooperation between China and Western countries in various fields. This article uses some concrete examples to comparative analysis the cultural connotation of color terms in both Chinese and English. Without any doubt, there is a great deal of benefit to make such a summary. First of all, it provides a great help to the beginners who are learning the idoms and expressions about color terms. Furthermore, to a certain degree, it can be a reference when translate color terms between Chinese and English. Last but not at least, cross-cultural communication can be furthered much more conveniently and smoothly.
