Abstract The True Story of Ah Q is one of the representative works of Lu Xun. It plays a significant role in the literature. This novel is intended to expose the weaknesses of Chinese people and change the current situation . Ah Q stands for most people in that age and the Psychological victory is very impressive. Nowadays, the main studies are the cultural loaded words and cultural vacancy. But with the development of cross-cultural communication, we need to pay more attention to translation strategy. This paper will analyze the use of translation strategies when translators deal with different aims and different kinds of cultures, and I hope I can learn something from the study.42989
 

According to the analysis of the translation, this study will focus on whether the choices of strategies can not only keep the styles of the source text, but also can make foreign readers understand the translation. When translators choose translation strategies, the purpose should be put in the first place. Skopostheorie provides translators with a compulsory rule that they shall obey. This paper will analyze whether the translation strategies that were selected by Yang has obeyed Skopostheorie.

Then, Cultural default refers to the omission of the common cultural knowledge shared by the writer and the readers. Each nation has its unique culture which consists of material culture, system culture and psychological culture. This paper intends to analyze the translation strategies in terms of these three parts.

Therefore, this paper which based on the Skopostheorie and cultural default will  

study whether the choices of translation strategies are loyal to the characters and psychological characteristics, and then draw a conclusion: this version not only rebuilds the image of characters, but also makes the description of characters and psychology impressive. This study of strategies will be beneficial to others and promote the transmission of Chinese culture.

摘要《阿Q正传》是鲁迅小说的代表作，在文学史上起着重要的作用。其写作意图是通过暴露出国民的弱点来改变社会现状。阿Q代表了当时大部分人，精神胜利法也让人印象深刻。目前对该译作的研究集中在文化负载词、文化空缺等方面，但随着文化交流加深，翻译策略越来越重要，对它的研究仍需进一步深化。本文尝试分析翻译策略在不同目的和文化种类下的使用，并加以学习和借鉴。

本文通过对杨戴英译本《阿Q正传》的分析，从目的论和文化缺省的角度来研究翻译策略的选择是否既能重现原文风采，又能让译文读者理解。目的论决定了翻译策略，它的提出为译者提供了必须遵守的原则。目的论有目的原则、忠实原则和连贯性原则，缺一不可。本文将从这三个原则来分析该译作的翻译策略。

文化缺省是指作者与读者在交流时因双方对共同文化的了解而进行的省略。每个民族都有自身独特的文化，文化又由物质文化、制度文化以及心理文化构成。本文将从这三个方面对杨戴翻译《阿Q正传》时选择的翻译策略进行分析。
