Based on the present knowledge of research on Salinger and his novel The Catcher in the Rye, I have my own response and understanding to Holden’s rebellion and growth. At first, we can’t ignore the influence to the society of the post-war, which form the young people as “the beat generation”. Then, school also plays a significant role in shaping Holden’s rebellion. Though families are not the only institution, they undertake the most important function in all societies to care for and socialize their young. This thesis attempts to make further research on young people’s rebellion and growth, which can’t be existed without the influence from family, school, and society. Connect the background of the time, to analyze the epiphany raised after one’s rebellion and it also as a good turning point in the long way of growth. 《麦田里的守望者》分析青少年的叛逆与成长(4):http://www.youerw.com/yingyu/lunwen_5692.html
