摘要近年来，美国电影中涉及灾难主题的电影越来越多。同时，生物技术滥用也是很多美国电影的主题。本论文旨在分析当代美国灾难片中的生物技术滥用。以时间为主线，本文分析了《细菌浩劫》(1985)，《水深火热》(1999)和《蝗虫毁灭日》(2005)三部美国电影中，由于生物技术滥用给人类带来的灾难。通过这三部影片，我们可以发现，由于滥用生物技术，人类的生存环境非常严峻。人类滥用生物技术也是对其他物种生命的践踏。因此，分析当代美国灾难片中生物技术滥用主题，有一定的现实意义，如，人类要善待自然和其他物种，要清洁生产和适度消费，人类要倡导环境公平和民主决策。由于目前对美国灾难片中生物技术滥用主题的研究还比较有限，本文为灾难片研究提供了不同的视角。8536

Title The Abuse of Biotechnology in American Disaster Film
——An Analysis Based on Warning Sign, Shark Attack and Locusts
Abstract
In the current time, there are more and more films which are about the disaster in America. Meanwhile, the abuse of biotechnology has become the topic for these disaster films in recent years. This thesis aims to explore the abuse of biotechnology in American disaster film, based on the analysis of Warning Sign(1985), Shark Attack(1999) and Locusts(2005). In these American disaster films, the audience can find that the living environment for mankind is deteriorating due to human biotechnology misuse. The abuse of biotechnology is mankind’s trampling on other species. Therefore, this paper has a certain realistic significance to explore the biotechnology abuse in American disaster films which advocate kind treatment of Nature, cleaner production, moderate consumption, environmental justice and democratic decision-making. As there is limited research on the abuse of biotechnology in American disaster films, this paper offers a new perspective for the study of such films.

1. Introduction
With the development of technology and society, we can find that there are more and more American films involve the topic of disaster which has aroused widespread concern. According to the present American disaster films, there is no doubt that the abuse of biotechnology has become the hot topic in recent years. This thesis aims to analyze the abuse of biotechnology in present American disaster films.
1.1 American Disaster Film
Disasters have been the subject of American film-goers’ fascination since the time of silent film epics, and this interest continues to exist up to the present time. American films have often depicted large-scale natural disasters (weather-related usually) or man-made calamities (a wreck at sea, an airplane crash), often accompanied by massive crowd scenes. Other disasters may be planetary-related, criminally-instigated, nuclear-related, millennial-related, or involving alien or mutant invasion of some kind.
