Abstract In China, the production of dye wastewater is large, which is difficult to handle。 Dye wastewater will cause damage to environment and human health。
Ionic liquid was supported on active carbon by dipping method, and the adsorption abilities were studied。 Some factors were discussed, such as the dissolved mass fraction of ionic liquid, reaction temperature, dosage of absorbent, adsorption time, adsorbate concentration and pH of the solution, and then adsorption isotherm was fitted。Experimental results show that 20% 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium hexafluorophosphate/activated carbon and 30% 1-butyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate/active carbon as the apporiate adsorbents。 When the temperature was 25℃, dosage of the absorbents was 3。6g/L, adsorption time was 1h, the initial concentration of methyl orange was 30 mg/L, and pH of the solution was 7, adsorption efficiency was higher。 The adsorption rate of 20% [bmim]PF6/activated carbon and 30% [bmim]BF4/active carbon were 98。8% and 98。3%, respectively。
Freundlich and Langmuir were used for [bmim]PF6/activated carbon and [bmim]BF4/activated carbon。 R² was 0。9829, 0。9979 and 0。9358, 0。9358, respectively。 [bmim]PF6/activated carbon and [bmim]BF4/activated carbon also more compared with Langmuir isotherm model。
