Dimethyl ether (DME) as an alternative fuel for petroleum and LPG is one of the important chemical products, and is widely concerned at home and abroad. The physical properties of DME are similar to LPG, and dimethyl ether is relatively cheap and can be produced in large quantities; it is expected to be one of the energy sources of the 21st century. Dimethyl ether industrial production process, including three processes are synthesis gas one-step process, methanol gas phase method and methanol liquid phase method. Syngas gas method and methanol method is the main difference between the synthesis of gas directly into dimethyl ether. Synthesis gas one-step industrial technology has not yet matured, and methanol gas phase method is the most economical and reasonable method of production of dimethyl ether.
Due to the methanol's low raw material prices, plenty of supply, the reaction of the advantages of the utilization of raw materials, and gradually become the main method for the production of dimethyl ether. This article is based on methanol to dimethyl ether as raw material for design.
With China's rapid economic development, the growing dependence of the chemical raw materials, chemical raw materials shortage, has become increasingly prominent hinder the bottleneck of China's social and economic development.
