The Charm of Mathematics
Abstract: Mathematics is a combination of rational thinking and imagination, which is a subject which researches the conceptions of number, structure, variation and space models etc. It grows out of the count, computation measurement and observing the object’s form and movement by the employment of abstraction and logical reasoning. Mathematics looks so attractive in that its development is built on the needs of social. The beauty of mathematics exists everywhere which can not only improve students' aesthetic ability but also can stimulate students' interest in learning and devotion on mathematics, thereby it helps students achieve preferable learning effect. In this paper, it mainly demonstrates the charm of mathematics through introducing the simplicity, symmetry, unity and harmony, singularity of mathematics.

试论数学中的美引言
数学，是众多科目中最基础的学科，不管小学、初中，还是高中、大学，数学都显得尤为重要；然而数学历来以高度的抽象性、严谨的逻辑性著称，因此使人们觉得它枯燥、单调、乏，对数学产生抵触情绪，甚至产生厌恶感，根本无心学习数学．数学家们通过研究指出：研究数学中的美，指导学生在学习数学的过程中发现美和欣赏美，能培养学生的审美能力和发散思文，有助于提高学生学习数学的兴趣．由于这些因素，使得研究数学中的美具有重要的实际意义．
下面文献都在不同程度上对数学中的美（数学美）进行了一系列的研究，文献[1]-[7]主要揭示了数学与美学的内在联系，探索运用美学原理指导数学创造、发明的过程．即把数学，特别是现代数学中相关的现象展示出来，再从美学角度重新认识；这不仅是对人们观念的一种启迪，同时可帮助人们去思文，去探索，去研究，去发掘．从美学角度探索数学中的一些现象，揭示其中的某些规律，往往可以得到一些意想不到的奇妙效果．文献[8]-[13]主要讲述了数学美的特征以及在数学领域中的运用，通过一些举例让人们感受到数学中的美，体会到数学的真正内涵，进而体会到数学的实用价值，从而激发人们对数学更大的兴趣．
本文在参考以上文献的基础上，先介绍了数学美的概念，研究数学美的历史和现状，以及研究数学美所具有的实际意义，然后提出了数学美的四大特征：简洁性、对称性、和谐性与统一性、奇异性．进行了一系列的详细阐述并举例论证．
