Translation of Ancient Chinese Poetry from the Perspective of Image-Gestalt Actualization Theory 

Abstract Ancient poetry is a great cultural treasure of China, the translation of which serves as an important platform for promoting cultural communication between China and the outside world。 In order to better pass on the artistic beauty of ancient poetry, it is necessary to translate poems under the guidance of Image-G Actualization, based on which the translated text will possess a harmonious structure and pass down the aesthetic experience to the readers。 Gestalt image is a holistic concept commonly existing in the work of literature。 From the aesthetic perspective, successful translation rests on the successful image-G actualization, the process of which involves mental actualization and linguistic actualization。 Translator will take a holistic view on the poetry perception in a gestalt sense and combine his or her aesthetic experience。 At the same time, the gestalt image formed in translator’s mind will exert great influence on the word choice, sentence and text coherence of the translated text in the target language。86605

从格式塔意象再造理论看中文古诗之英译

摘  要古诗词是中国文化的瑰宝，其英译为促进中国对外文化交流和传播搭建了重要平台。为了更好地向世界传递中国古诗的艺术之美，古诗英译需要在格式塔意象再造理论的指导下实现译文结构的自然和谐以及审美体验的传递。格式塔意象是一个整体概念上的意象，它普遍存在于文学作品之中。从美学角度来看，成功的古诗英译在于成功的格式塔意象再造。格式塔意象再造理论指导下的古诗英译主要分为心理实现和语言实现两个过程。在英译古诗的过程中，译者会根据格式塔意象的“完形”特征及其在阅读过程中获得的审美体验，以整体性的视角来理解原文。在心理层面建构的格式塔意象将会影响译者在语言层面的词汇选取、句式连贯和文章通顺。
