    摘要近年来,社会各界对性别差异的关注越来越多。新课程改革背景下,对学生个体差异的关注成为教育理论界和实践的重要课题,性别差异更是其中不容忽视的因素。英语学习是一个非常复杂的过程,它涉及诸多因素,特别是学习者自身的因素是最直接和最主要的。本文探讨了男女生性别差异影响英语学习的原因以及男女生在学习方面表现出的差异,并提出了相应的消除男女生在学习方面产生差异的各种对策,达到在一定程度上弱化性别差异对外语学习的影响的目的,提高英语教学质量。21905

    Abstract In recent years, all sectors of society have given more and more attention to gender differences. Under the background of new curriculum reform, attaching importance to the students’ inpidual differences becomes an important subject of study in theoretic and practical field of education, and gender difference is one part of that which can’t be ignored. English learning is a very complex process which involves many factors, and the learner’s own factors are the most direct and significant especially. This paper tries to elicit the causes of influence of gender differences on English learning, and the reflection of gender difference in English learning, and puts forward relevant countermeasures to achieve the purpose to weaken the effects of gender differences in English learning to some extent, and to improve the quality of teaching.

    After analyzing more than 1500 researches, American psychologists E.E.Maccoby and C.N.Jacklin (1974) got the following conclusions: female ability of language expression is better than males; men are better than women on vision and spatial perception; males are better than females on mathematic reasoning, especially on the reasoning of geometry and trigonometry; males are better than females on physical power and they are more aggressive on language. Among the junior middle school students, there is a phenomenon all the time that the girls’ grades are generally better than boys (Zhao,2011). The fact tells us that in the process of English learning, gender differences are the objective existence, and a lot of research has been done in this respect abroad, but in our country, we always carry out the educational pattern of not distinguishing the gender. Especially in English education of junior middle school, people only study the entire teaching method and inpidual’s psychological differences but not the effect of gender differences between male and female students in the study; that is to say, in English teaching people only pays attention to conventional teaching principles in accordance with their aptitude and other, but they lack of attention on objective differences of learning psychology, learning ability and other aspects because of gender differences. Therefore, it is very necessary for improving the quality of teaching to further study the influence of gender differences on English learning.
