摘要东西方文化是世界上差异最大的两种文化,英语导游词作为中西文化交流的一种渠道,里面富含众多具有鲜明中国文化特色的信息。然而,从目前各种翻译资料来看,无可否认导游词的翻译尚存在不准确及不规范的问题,其中国俗词汇的翻译则是导致导游词翻译不准确的重要因素之一。国俗语义是语义民族性的一种体现,它反映使用该语言的国家或民族的历史文化和民情风俗,具有浓郁的民族文化特色。本文将对汉英导游词中国俗词汇的翻译策略进行研究,旨在找出最合适恰当的翻译策略,为我国旅游业的进一步宣传和发展做出贡献。23344

Title On Translating Strategies of Folk Custom Words in C-E Tour Guide Materials
Abstract
Eastern and western culture, to a large extent, are different from each other. English tour guide materials, playing as a link of Chinese and western cultural, has lots of information of Chinese culture and customs. However, the present translation materials are not accurate and normative to some extent. The translation of folk custom meaning in tour guide materials is one of the most important causes. Folk custom meaning is an expression of national feature with rich national cultural characteristics, which reflects the country and nation's history and culture, customs and habits. This paper focuses on the translation strategies of folk custom words in C-E tour guide materials and makes contribution to the further promotion and development of China's tourism industry.

1 Introduction
1.1 Research Background
China is a vast land rich in tourist resources and ranks high in the world in terms of its spectacular natural wonders and mysterious cultural relics. With China’s entry into the WTO and the increasing globalization, inbound tourism will be more and more important in economic development and cultural exchanges. One thing can safely be said of tourism in China in the future: it will attract more and more foreign tourists to explore its long history, rich culture, and exotic custom. Tourism is an intangible product which customers are obliged to purchase without having the opportunity to inspect it, and often from a base of inadequate knowledge. In this circumstance, the tour guide materials become the principal means of both informing them about the product and persuading them to purchase it. Thus, in order to promote China’s tourism and to attract foreign visitors, the quality of tour guide material translation is quite important.
