    摘要元认知是对认知的认知,元认知策略在英语阅读中起着重要作用,它不仅能够提升大学生的英语阅读水平,更为英语教学方法的改进提供理论依据。元认知策略包括自我计划策略、自我调控策略和自我监察策略。本文主要通过问卷调查的方式了解部分生物专业学生对元认知策略在英语阅读中的运用情况及运用元认知策略的效果反馈情况,并从上述三个方面对统计结果进行分析,针对英语阅读中存在的问题提出改进措施和建议,旨在提高大学生的英语阅读水平,寻找有效的阅读方法。23647

    Abstract
    Meta-cognition is an inpidual’s perception of its own cognitive activities. It plays an important role in English reading, which not only can improve college students’ English reading comprehension but provide the theoretical basis for English teaching. Meta-cognitive strategies include self-planning, self-monitoring and self-regulation and play important roles in English reading. The paper mainly uses the investigation questionnaires to know the application of Meta-cognitive strategies in English reading and gets feedback of some biology majors, then analyzes the questionnaire results in three aspects above-mentioned. This paper attempts to put some suggestions in the English reading, aiming to improve students’ reading comprehension level and find an effective English reading method.

    I. Introduction 
    Language learners are often faced with difficulties when they read the target language. Using meta-cognitive strategies is considered a method to solve the problems. According to Flavell’s definition of meta-cognition (1979), it is an inpidual’s perception of their own cognitive activities. Meta-cognitive strategies are series of methods including self-planning, self-monitoring and self-regulation.
    Cognitive scientists begin to put their attention to the meta-cognition in recent years. So meta-cognition becomes a very powerful idea in the development of cognitive science. There are some related research results published, such as the meta-cognitive strategies. Pan (2006) indicates that theory and practice have great impact on reading. The aim of meta-cognitive strategies is to teach students how to set objectives and how to be effective and independent (Sen 2009). A great number of studies should be made to learn foreign language. Wen Qiufang and Wang Lifei (2004) point out that problem-solving and reading comprehension aim at developing the English reading.
