1。3 The influences on Chinese poets and authors brought by the Stray Birds
Guo Moruo's elegant and refined style has been influenced by Tagore to some extent。 According to scholars’ researches, he is the earliest poet who knows the poems of Tagore。 “’In the spring of 1915。。。’ is supposed to be the only evidence to tell us Guo Moruo's earliest contact with Tagore's poems。 ” Having been influenced by Tagore's original style of poems, Guo's writing potential was fired and became the first poet writing new poems in China。 His early works of poems were remarkably with Tagore’ marks。 Especially the theory of pantheism。 “After I came into contact with the two poets Tagore and Heine, I was naturally influenced by them。 During the year between 1917 and 1918, their poems offered me referential significance and I accidentally wrote out several poems in oral form。 My poem Temptation of Death was just created in the spring of 1918。” Guo once said in his essay。
