Hence, based on the new historicist concepts of “self-fashioning”, “the historicity of texts” and “the textuality of the history”, I am going to make a new historicist interpretation of The Indian Lawyer, probing into the main character’s self-fashioning and the relations between the text and the history embodied in The Indian Lawyer.
