Abstract In our country,English Teaching of Junior middle school pays attention to the teaching of language knowledge, but ignores the cultivation of students' cultural input。 Students do not have the atmosphere of foreign language learning。 Teachers lack of literacy。 Meanwhile, they do not know the relationship between language and culture。 Some teachers do not have the awareness to add culture to their students。 This thesis touches briefly up on the development of the foreign culture teaching both at home and abroad, especially research the relationship between language and culture, the existing questions and strategies of junior middle school culture teaching。 I hope this thesis can help teachers to improve their teaching ability。94104

For a student to study a foreign language is to have a process to obtain the language and its culture for communicating aims。 However in students’ real English studying and using process, our students often meet much trouble。 They should know the relevant cultural knowledge and cultivate correct cultural awareness。
For students, it is difficult to communicate with foreigners than with Chinese students or teachers。 Commonly they feel nervous, afraid and hard to chat with foreigners。 Students don’t know the meaning although they know all the words and the grammatical rules while they are reading an English book。 In the students’ compositions, they have strong Chinese structure and thinking mode。 The most important reason of having such phenomenon above is the students’ poor cultural knowledge and deficient cultural awareness。
Culture teaching can widen the version, enrich the cultural knowledge and deepen the understanding about the society and world。 It can help establish a correct cultural attitude, the formation of cultural differences。 At last culture teaching can help students understand English better and use English more delicately。 Further more, it can really improve the level their language and foster the future talents with intercultural communication consciousness and ability。 In daily teaching activities,teachers should pay more attention to cultivating students’ communicative ability,and making students learns the language culture of the country(Zhu)。
