    摘 要越来越多的研究表明,现代信息技术可以被应用于英语教学中,并且对英语课堂产生积极的影响。本文采用质性研究方法,首先简述传统英语教学的缺点,现代信息技术的出现以及在英语教学中的应用发展过程,其次阐述如何在英语教学中有效地应用现代信息技术,以及该技术在教学中的积极影响,最后揭示了现代信息技术潜在的弊端并提出一些可行的应对措施。通过这篇论文可以得出,现代信息技术对英语教学极其有利,但若使用不当也会不可避免地带来负面影响。本文旨在改善英语教师的课堂教学和学生的英语学习。36444

    Abstract More and more studies show that the utilization of modern informational technology has a positive effect on our English class. This paper chooses qualitative approach. Firstly, this paper states the shortcomings of traditional English education and the emergence and application to English teaching of modern education technology. Secondly, it deals with how to properly make full use of informational technology. Thirdly, this paper analyses the irreplaceable advantages of modern informational technology. Fourthly, it reveals the weaknesses of informational technology and possible solutions. Finally, taking advantage of informational education can be beneficial for English learning if teachers apply it to teaching class. This paper shows the advantages of modern informational technology and some of its possible negative effects in case of using it unsuitably. Hopefully this paper will be beneficial to English teaching of teachers and English study of students.

    I. Introduction
    Traditional English teaching centres teachers’ lecturing; as a result, students are spoon-fed. Teaching tools are very limited and simple, such as the blackboard and chalk. Students listen to teachers all the time and stare at what teachers write. The main task of students is to read and recite the text as a machine to memorize everything regardless of whether they are interested and enthusiastic or not. Teaching contents focus on word meaning, text comprehension and grammar analysis emphasizing on reading and writing. Such a tedious and boring teaching pattern neglecting students’ feeling is not popular with students. This teaching pattern without any consideration of whether students are interested in this English class is not really favorable for improving English. Traditional English teaching extremely lays stress on the major importance of teachers and texts, which restrains the normal development of mind, creativity initiative of students to a large extent. Students with high scores but low abilities are victims of this cramming method of teaching which ignores the improvement of application skills. English is a practical curriculum, which  needs to be taught and learned in an active language environment.
