摘要随着中国经济的发展及其国际地位的提高,英语作为一种国际语言对于中国人来说也显得日益重要。而小学英语作为英语学习的基础阶段将影响到学生今后总体英语水平的发展。本文主要通过观察法,文献研究法,教育调查法等研究游戏教学在小学英语课堂教学的应用。研究内容主要包括游戏教学的基本步骤,一些游戏案例,运用中存在的问题及其应该遵循的原则。根据研究,大家知道游戏教学法对小学英语课堂的教学至关重要但还存在一些问题。希望这篇文章可以引起大家对游戏教学法在小学英语课堂中应用的思考,并对小学英语教学现状的改善有所贡献。39738

Abstract With the development of Chinese economy and the improvement of its international status, as a communicative medium, English plays an increasingly important role for Chinese. English learning in primary school is the basis of the whole English learning experience, which will affect students’ learning attitude toward English and the English level in the future. Through the methods of observation, literature research and educational investigation, this paper mainly studies the application of Game Teaching Method in primary English class. The author pides it into five parts; the paper mainly presents the basic procedures of Game Teaching Method, some cases, problems and some principles in the process of applying Game Teaching Method. According to this exploration, people know that Game Teaching Method is very important for English teaching and it still has some problems. The author hopes that this paper can arouse people’s thought about the application of Game Teaching Method in primary English class. What’s more, the author wishes that this paper can contribute to the improvement of current situation of English teaching in primary school.

I. Introduction
Stimulating students’ interest in English learning, helping them establish confidence and foster good learning habits, making them study independently and cooperate with others friendly are the main tasks in primary English teaching. So we must value students’ interest in learning English. Jill Hadfield defines game like this: game is a regular, targeted and interesting activity (158). Interest is the best teacher. Then we can use all kinds of Game Teaching Method in English classes, because elementary students are so young that they can’t control themselves well. In addition, according to the feature of pupil, their attention is very easy to be distracted. However games can draw their attention. In the process of playing games, they can not only play happily, but also obtain much knowledge. Furthermore, they can grasp and view the knowledge firmly and effectively. They will learn English actively if they feel happy in the process of English learning by playing games, then they can learn more and more better. By this way, they can learn English well. What’s more, they will like English and gain great development in various aspects which will be good for their English learning and comprehensive advancement in the future. Consequently, arranging games reasonably in the process of English teaching is very important. Teachers’ teaching methods are very important for students. The teachers should combine the games with the learning contents well. Classroom games require students to answer and reflect quickly so as to train their memory and foster their ability of observation and imitation. At the same time, students can improve their language ability and form good learning method and habit in the process of playing games. Game Teaching method can arouse students’ interest in learning English and improve teaching efficiency which is in accord with our quality-oriented education. It can also reduce students’ burden and promote their harmonious development in a better way. Since Game Teaching Method is very important, teachers must have specific objectives, plans and procedures before they conduct games.
