Abstract English is a difficult course for most primary schools in China. As a second language, students are unable to have a full-English environment as their native language. So, as English teachers, we must deal with every student's problems patiently in the process of teaching. For example, we can use eye-contact to suggest students’ errors and praise their progresses. Teacher’s eye contact is characterized as authenticity, abundance and implication. To some degree, eye contact is an ideological and emotional bridge that helps teachers and students communicate with each other. Therefore, as a work of art, eye contact is a necessary skill that every teacher has to learn well. Not only does eye contacts can express affections, assist teaching, improve relationship between teachers and students, but also it can adjust their behaviors, offer feedback of teaching information and increase the efficiency.71704

The Functions of Eye Contact in Primary English Teaching
Chapter 1 Introduction
During the process of primary English teaching, teachers mainly impart contents of courses with verbal instructions. However, non-verbal information plays an unexpected role in teaching, especially the easily-neglected eye contact. Since eyes are the window of the mind, and it constitutes one of the most effective ways to express one’s inner feelings. As the soul of eyes, a light (it means the expression in one’s eyes) is not only the carrier of information, but also the important intermediary of the communication between teachers and students and the most crucial non-verbal approach to communication.论文网
