1。1 General Statement
Human communicates with each other in many kinds of ways。 Language is the most common way of communicating with people。 We express our ideas through speech, which is the most widely way to convey what we want to tell others。 Language is a kind of verbal language that can easily convey ideas。 Body language is another way to express our emotions and behaviors。
Here comes a hot issue。 English has been playing an important role in our daily life and there are many schools or training organizations focusing on foreign language teaching now。
Today, with the development of English learning, a kind of situation comes into our country that people send their 4 or 5 years old children to study English。 The study will do some research on pupils’ English learning。论文网
Generally speaking, body language of teachers in class plays a significant role。 As a saying goes, “To be a popular teacher, to know proper body language”。 We can keep silent but there is no way for us not to convey information or thoughts through body language。 Sometimes rich nonverbal language is more powerful than verbal language。 Proper body language helps students study English easily。
1。2 Significance of the Research
This research will do some research on the positive influence of body language in primary English teaching。 The aim of this research is to teach children to study English properly and flexibly。 It has a definitely instructive significance to develop a multiple-function English teaching。 What is the value of body language in primary English teaching? The influence of teachers’ body language in teaching is imposed on theoretical and practical teaching。 Both theoretical and practical significance are as follows。
The research tries to provide English teaching with constructive suggestions in theoretical aspect。 On one hand, it can enable teachers to know students’ characteristics or personalities well so as to teach students with their aptitude。 On the other hand, it will create more convenient conditions for implementing English teaching。 Students are going to make way for better performance for English speaking, which is the real purpose of English learning。 As Erving Goffman said, “although one can stop talking, he can’t stop expressing by means of his body movements” (Li Zhencun, 2011:2)。
