My points of view is affected by Li Haixia in Zhongshan Torch Vocational and Technical College whose thesis is An Analysis of the Identity Construction of Chinese-American Women In The Joy Luck Club From the Perspective of Ecological Feminism。Both of us write papers from the perspective of ecological feminism and she focuses on the identity construction during the collision and cohesion between Chinese culture and American culture,however,my thesis pays attention to the awakening of the female characters when they suffer the patriarchy oppression。

3。The Embodiment of Eco-feminism in the Female Characters 

Ecological feminism is the combination of ecology and feminism。It is a kind of social and political movement and there is a certain relationship between the social oppression to women and natural degradation。In my thesis,I use the ecological feminism to analyze the female characters in The Joy Luck Club。As a new cultural criticism theory,Ecological feminism provides literary researches with a new research angle and the method。In my thesis,I use the theory to explore and realize the Chinese-American identity constructions。Mother earth theory reflects the mutual relativity of women and nature。Women often find themselves at a distinct disadvantage and suffer from the oppression。They become the others who are “lacking the voice” in the patriarchal society。
