Chapter Two Literature Review
2。1 Theoretical basis
2。1。1 Educational theory of English teaching in primary schools
Educational theory provides the important theoretical guidance and has a positive effect on the formulation of educational policies。 This paper mainly bases on the two theories of “ equal education” and “PT learning”。 Equal education advocates that everyone should have an equal opportunity to receive education, and government and society should ensure the equal educational opportunity。 If applying this rule of “equal education “ to the primary school in rural areas, students in different places deserve equal educational opportunities。 Participatory learning advocates that students and teachers should regard themselves as characters of movies on English lesson。 Application of participatory leaning does not only require teachers’ effort but also students’ , i。e。 students involve themselves into activities, refers to the inpidual involvement into the research task in affection, thinking, and action。 Participatory activity in teaching is actually a kind of teaching activity under the teacher's guidance and students increase their participatory degree by using their eyes, mouths, hands and brains。 Thus it reflects the students as the main part character and they can achieve an overall improvement in knowledge, ability and quality。
2。1。2 Educational psychology of English teaching in Primary schools
Under the effects of education, educational psychology shows the psychological laws of learners’ learning and mastering knowledge, skills, developing intelligence and personalities。 Teachers are expected to combine educational psychology and English education in primary schools。 Primary students tend to be self-abasement, introverted, extroverted and so on。 Due to different psychology, teachers should organize some bilingual activities, such as telling stories games, remembering words games, song games, performance games, handwriting games, etc, which can cultivate students personalities, and psychological enduring capacities。 With more chances to perform themselves, students will be more confident in learning English。 来~自,优^尔-论;文*网www.youerw.com +QQ752018766-
2。2 Former researches
English education in primary school has always been the emphasis of education researches in primary and English curriculum researches。 Therefore some scholars pay much attention to the English education in primary school, and exploring the measures to improve the educational qualities。 As a result, they hold that applying the advanced teaching methods to the English education in primary school has a good effect。 For example, Jin Shunying(2011) has done researches on PBL(Problem-based learning)。 In her article “ A brief analysis on the application of PBL to the English education in Primary school”, she holds that teachers should create a English problem situation and help students build a team to make preparations for solving the following problems。 And in the article “ a brief analysis on the situation creation of the English education in primary school”, Li Jia(2011) advises that teachers should adopt the idea of using the situational teaching in the teaching process to increase the English learning efficiency。 This paper uses the former researches for references, but I think there are two problems in these researches。 Firstly, in these researches, the objects is aimed at improving the English education in the whole country, but not suitable for every place。 For example, in Jiangsu Province, there is a great difference in the educational situations between the south part and north part。 So we should provide the specific suggestions to the specific places rather than provide a suggestion to all the places。 Secondly, all of researches take the former researches as examples, they do not experience the English education themselves, which may cause a unpractical and unreal results。 So before writing this paper, I practiced in the central primary school of Wei Miao town, and made a good combination of theory and experiences。
