摘要“面子”观存在于各个国家的文化中,因地理和环境的区别,其差异大相径庭,本文旨在研究和对比中国和美国两种不同的文化背景下,“面子”问题在交际过程中的区别。具体从中美“面子”理论、中美“面子”文化的成因和差异三个方面进行分析,中国受传统文化的影响,考虑集体zhuyi,即个人服从社会,因此中国的文化普遍被认为是以积极“面子”为特征;而美国则考虑个人zhuyi,强调解放自我,文化侧重消极“面子”。本文通过对比分析的研究方法,归纳中美“面子”文化的成因和差异,从而使交际者在交际过程中能够更加的深入掌握和运用“面子”原理,保证跨文化交际顺利进行,在文化交际中受益。82827

Abstract “Face” is a common concept in many countries’ cultures。 Due to the geographical and cultural elements, it differs a lot among countries。 This paper aims to study and analyze the different concept of “face” in cross-cultural communication under the two different cultures between China and America。 The discussion mainly focuses on analyzing “face”, the cause of “face” concept, and the differences between them。 Chinese people are influenced by traditional culture, considering collectivism, in other words, one person should submit to the society, so Chinese culture is characterized “positive face”; while American people consider inpidualism, they pay more attention to liberation, and focus on “negative face”。 This paper employs the method of comparative analysis, and summarizes the causes and differences between China and America, so as to make people grasp and apply the concept of “face” better in the cross-cultural communication, and to benefit from cross-cultural communication。
