Abstract The development of modern ship industry demands a quick growth of communication in marine technology。 Many scholars have studied a lot about the translation of marine English, but very few would choose to study syntax choices in the translation of marine English。 Yet it deserves our attention。 87070
Since English sentence structure and Chinese sentence structure are very different，it is essential to find the most common sentence patterns used in both English and Chinese。 This paper is about the features of the translation contexts and the syntactic choices in the translation, which is meant to find the accordance to explain the reason for the choice, and is about the sentence structure used in the science and technology English, which can be used to clarify whether it is also applied to marine English。 With these analyses, this paper combines the concrete translation examples and lists different translation strategies, through these examples, find the preferences of the sentence pattern in technical translation。
This paper begins with the elaboration on some aspects of the language, then it shifts to the gradation of the translation, finally it combines the characteristics of the science and technology English to deeply discuss the syntactic choices in the marine English。 In this paper, three groups of the English sentence structures are discussed: the long sentence, the passive voice and the attributive clauses。 To look for the most appropriate sentence patterns in the technical translation, it is necessary to conclude and summarize a common rule for those situations。

摘 要现代船业的发展致使对船海英语的需求量越来越大。很多学者对船海英语翻译做出了很多的研究，但是对于句式选择这一块的研究不是很多。本文介绍了关于船海英语句式选择。
文章主要是从中英文句式特点的差异开始分析，研究了英汉句式的特点，目的是为了找出英汉两种语言中常用的句法。其次分析翻译中常用的句式以及其所涉及到的句法，找出常用这个句式的依据。接着归纳出科技英语常用的句式，联系船海英语这个科技英语本身，观察是否它常用的句式符合科技英语最常用的句式。
从语言的角度，过渡到翻译层面，再层层递进，联系到科技英语方面的句法特点，一层一层阐述清楚。结合到具体的翻译实例，采用不同的翻译策略，对船海英语的句式进行恰当的筛选。本文从长句，被动语态和定语从句这三个方面进行讨论叙述，当遇到这样的句式时，应当选择怎样的句式比较合适，尽可能让译文符合读者的阅读习惯。
