Abstract On August 21st , 2016, the authoress Hao Jingfang won the Novellas Award of the 74th Hugo Award by Beijing Zhedie。 It was the second time for a Chinese work to win the Hugo Award after Santi and it marked the maturity of Chinese science fiction。 However, there are not many people in the Chinese academia studying the Chinese-to-English translation of science fiction。 And among the very few systematic studies, Professor Guo Jianzhong’s work is the most recognized one。 He summarized three guiding principles for English-to-Chinese science fiction translation: it should retain the work’s literary value, the plain language and the science factor, and put forward several translations techniques。 This thesis takes Beijing Zhedie as a case to analyze in detail about how to translate Chinese works into English according to those three principles。93830

摘要2016年8月21日，中国女作家郝景芳凭借《北京折叠》摘得第74届雨果奖中短篇小说奖。这是继《三体》之后，中国科幻作品第二次获得雨果奖，标志中国科幻的成熟化。然而，中国学术界研究科幻小说英译的人极少。而在极少数的系统性研究中，郭建中教授的成果最具代表。他总结出科幻小说英译汉三大原则：即译作应具备文学性、通俗性和科学性，并提出了几个翻译策略。本文以《北京折叠》为例，从以上三大原则具体分析如何英译中国科幻作品。

On August 21st , 2016, the authoress Hao Jingfang’ s Beijing Zhedie won the Novellas Award of the 74th Hugo Award。 It was the second time that a Chinese work won the award after Santi and it undoubtedly shocked Chinese and world science fiction communities。 Winning the award means Chinese contemporary science fiction has been accepted by foreigners。 Authoress Hao Jingfang made the story itself very attractive。 Beijing Zhedie didn’t describe many advanced science and technologies like traditional science fictions, it based on real life，narrated the human nature and social ethics from the aspect of science fiction which made readers sigh。 However a more important factor to the success was its splendid translation。 Only to convey the authoress’s intention and original content accurately and clearly can move the western readers, allow them to go beyond the cultural barriers, to experience the real Chinese fiction。 Without reliable translation, a good science fiction may lose its spirit and been neglected by judges of major awards。 Therefore, to strengthen the study of Chinese fiction translation is important for its future development。 This thesis takes the English translation version of Beijing Zhedie as the main research object, and tries to summarize some applicable strategies to the future Chinese fiction translation 。 郭建中翻译原则视角下的《北京折叠》英译:http://www.youerw.com/yingyu/lunwen_201757.html
