Abstract Wang Zuoliang, conversant with ancient and modern learning, is a learned scholar of tremendous accomplishment who enjoys high reputation in the academic circles both at home and abroad with many titles (an educator ,a foreign literature as well as a writer and poet etc), who is thus dubbed as a versatile man of the Renaissance。 The research aims, on the hand, to analyze and clarify Wang Zuoliang’s translation style resulting from the combination of his translation and significant a role Wang Zuoliang plays in building China’s translation theory and boosting our translation practice ,especially in the literary translation cause。 Unfortunately, that only a little has been done about the study of Wang Zuoliang’s translation achievements, especially the study of his translation style, leave alone to study it comprehensively, systematically and scientifically。75098

摘要王佐良先生博古通今，学贯中西，著述等身，成就卓著，在国内外学术界（集教育家、外国文学家、作家及诗人于一身）享有盛誉。在翻译领域上，王佐良的贡献可谓卓越超凡，他的译著以散文、诗歌、戏剧、小说为主，英译汉、汉译英皆有，而且几乎每一篇译著都是精品，其译学思想立论新颖其内容隽永新鲜，耐人寻味，值得很好的借鉴与研究。然而目前学界对王佐良的翻译成就，尤其是对其翻译风格的研究却少之甚微。本文旨在通过浅析王佐良自身翻译主张的翻译风格、翻译思想和理论基础，来揭示他的翻译成就在我国翻译理论建设与翻译实践发展，特别是在文学翻译事业中的价值和意义。
