The use of multimedia makes the class content more abundant, and makes the teaching efficiency improved remarkably。 As we know, the time of classroom teaching is limited after all。 To improve the efficiency of class teaching is fundamental。 Traditional teaching is an example of writing on the blackboard, students taking notes, and the atmosphere of the class is not active。 But using multimedia teaching can change the teaching mode in the past make students to access to moving content in a limited period of time, and get more opportunities to practice。 The results will certainly be greatly improved。
Multimedia also can be seemed as a teaching tool, it has the characteristics of teaching presentation, simulated demonstration and man-machine interaction。 On the one hand, it can present the teaching content to let students get point and stimulate student’s learning interests with strong appeal。 On the other hand, multimedia can built a relationship between machine and pupils。 What’s more, the interactive features of multimedia can help teacher know the extent of students’ learning situation easily。
2。3 Previous Researches on Multimedia English Teaching
Nowadays, we can find the use of multimedia has been widely used in the field of English teaching。 What’s more, many scholars have researched certain studies about multimedia for several years。
The primary stage of computer-aided English teaching is Computer-aided language teaching, which roughly began in the 1960s。 Stanford University began computer assisted instruction research as early as 1963 and successfully developed the IBM1500 teaching system with the cooperation of BIM in 1966。 The teaching system is used in many teaching courses, including foreign language courses (Mac 206)。
There are some cases about multimedia aided English teaching in China。 Though the history of application of multimedia technology in the teaching of the primary school in China is later than the West, in recent years, many experts and scholars have done a lot of researches on the application of multimedia in primary school English teaching。 For example, Shi Na introduced the application of multimedia courseware in primary school English education and pointed out the problems which need attention in multimedia education(230)。 Liu Duo studied multimedia and primary education, the relationship between image and thinking ability of primary school, and the effect of multimedia on the development of primary school students’ thinking(302)。 Li Fuhui explored the methods and strategies of multimedia technology in the field of elementary school, combining with the characteristics of multimedia technology(227)。 In 2006, Wang Liu carried out the teaching experiment study on the students who have studied German for a year。 respectively using, texts, pictures videos to study the influence of multimedia on vocabulary learning(178)。 The study shows that multimedia function of illustrations and voice can improve the students to master words and phrases。
Thus, we can not deny that a lot of scholars had paid lots of time and energy to demonstrated the importance of multimedia in many directions。 But the author seldom find that there are relevant researches about multimedia teaching in primary school。 This paper has used experiment to explore the influence of using multimedia in English teaching。 Multimedia English teaching have much more advantages than traditional English teaching, and multimedia is indispensable when teaching English in primary school。
2。4 The Current Situation of the Primary School English Teaching
