摘 要《喜福会》是一部由华裔作家谭恩美撰写的同名小说改编而来的电影，描述了四位中国母亲和她们的美国女儿的故事，在多个角度充分展现了中美文化间的差异。通过使用对比研究的方法，本文主要从教育方式、亲情观与婚姻观、价值观、语言表达四个方面对这部电影中折射出的中美文化差异进行对比,与此同时分析存在差异的原因。本文揭示出中美文化差异是复杂且多方面，其产生原因亦是多样化的。希望这篇论文有益于对中美文化差异的理解以及两国间的文化交流。36533

AbstractThe Joy Luck Club is a movie adapted from the novel written by the Chinese-American writer Amy Tan. It tells stories of four Chinese mothers and their American-born daughters, fully demonstrating the differences between Chinese and American cultures from multiple perspectives. By using the method of comparative study, this paper mainly analyzes the differences between Chinese and American cultures from the aspects as follows: education methods, views of love and marriage, values and language expression, and at the same time explores the reasons for the differences. Accordingly, it reveals that the differences between Chinese and American cultures are complex and various, and the reasons are also persified. It is hoped that this paper will be beneficial to the understanding of the differences between Chinese and American cultures and the cultural exchanges of the two countries.

An Analysis of Differences Between Chinese and American Cultures Reflected in The Joy Luck Club
I. Introduction
As is known to all, our society is entering a time of globalization, and people from different countries and different cultural backgrounds have more opportunity to communicate with others. The differences between Chinese and American cultures have attracted the extensive attention of scholars, writers and even directors. The Joy Luck Club is a movie adapted from the novel written by the Chinese-American writer Amy Tan. It tells stories of four Chinese mothers and their American-born daughters, fully demonstrating the differences between Chinese and American cultures from multiple perspectives. Domestic and foreign scholars have studied the differences between Chinese and American cultures on the basis of several theories. Some scholars tried to research the cultural differences from the angle of high-context communication and low-context communication. While some scholars carried out this kind of research from the angle of the cultural dimension of inpidualism and collectivism. As for the research on The Joy Luck Club, some scholars explored the conflicts and fusions from the relationship between mothers and daughters in The Joy Luck Club. Some scholars explored the differences by using the theories mentioned above. Some scholars tried to make a critical analysis of The Joy Luck Club. The cross-cultural communication is an angle for this kind of research as well. But only a few scholars focused on the underlying causes of the differences between Chinese and American cultures. Most scholars just listed the differences presented in The Joy Luck Club without any deep analysis.
