Through years of research, feminism is always a hot topic to discuss, but there is a tendency that researchers are having more concerns on real life conditions and people’s attitudes towards women.
While so many foreign scholars do plenty of researches on The Left Hand of Darkness, which proves that it is really a science fiction masterpiece, there are only five translated novels that are introduced to China, compared to her long writing list. Because of the limitation of the author’s materials, a few researches on Ursula K. Le Guin and her representative book The Left Hand of Darkness are published. It is surprising to see a new wave of research on this book in recent five years.
While some researchers studying on the myth of hero and request (Guo Jian, 2012), focalization of Ai (Shang Yunying, 2014) and cosmopolitanism (Chen Rong, 2015), other researchers concern more on androgyny and feminism.
