摘 要课堂是学生学习的主要场所,课堂教学对学生的学习起着重要的作用。然而,高中英语课堂沉默现象较为普遍。这种消极的沉默现象不仅严重阻碍了教学活动的顺利进行,而且也成为学生学好英语的一大障碍。本文通过课堂观察、问卷调查的方法对高中生的英语课堂沉默现象做了调查,从外部环境、学生和教师三方面对沉默现象的原因做了分析,并提出了相应的解决措施。本文的研究有助于改善高中英语课堂教学氛围,提高高中英语课堂教学效果。79328

Abstract Classroom is a main place of students’ learning, and classroom teaching plays an important role in students’ study。 However, it is common to see silence phenomenon in high school English class。 This negative silence phenomenon not only hinders teaching activities, but also becomes a big obstacle to students to learn English well。 In this paper, a survey is made by means of classroom observation and questionnaire, and meanwhile the causes of the silence phenomenon are analyzed from the perspectives of the external environment, students and teachers and finally corresponding solutions are proposed。 The research helps teachers improve the atmosphere of English class in high school and enhance the effect of high school English classroom teaching。

The Analysis of Silence Phenomenon in High School English Classroom
I。 Introduction
Classroom is the main place for students to learn language。 However, the silence phenomenon has gradually been prevailing in the classroom in recent years。 There are an increasing number of students who make no response to teacher’s questions or totally avoid participating in the class activities。
According to the ordinary high school English syllabus, the high school classroom teaching should focus on the students’ emotional thinking and their ability of communicating with others。 Besides, teachers and students should try their best to bring their subjective initiative into play。 However, in English teaching situation, most of the students respond to their teachers in a silent way。 With the further study of silence phenomenon and the continuous attention paid to it by English teachers, analysis of the silence phenomenon has become extremely crucial。 The study focuses on the characteristics and causes of silence phenomenon, and aims at helping teachers and students to conquer the difficulty。
