Abstract
With the acceleration of scientific and economic development, the international communication and cultural exchanges appear unprecedented height. Currently, as the frequency between the Chinese and the American intercultural activities, the cultural activities took place along with cultural differences between the two countries. This kind of difference has aroused our attention, as well as curiosity about the core value of the China and the United States. The need for greater cross cultural awareness is heightened in our economic globalization. Cultural awareness is increasingly being viewed as a critical skill in securing success on today’s international stage. A clear and effective communication is necessary between different cultures. The term “intercultural communication” may refer to communications between people from different nations or with different cultural backgrounds, which contains people’s overviews, thinking ways, value-oriented and customs.
The study is conducted to investigate cultural differences to have an effective communication , from the perspective of children’s birthday party between China and America.A quantitative research methods will be used in this study. The researcher will make a comparative study on children’s birthday party culture between China and the United States, we can know more about the two countries’ history, culture and custom.The author has done many research from four aspects as invitation，food and gift and so on. From aspects above,the author has analyzed the different children’s birthday party culture between China and the United states. The result is that the children’s birthday party culture has reflected the many aspects of difference between China and the United states. The cultural gap should not be the obstacle to the civilization of human being. It ought to be the motivation of our modern civilization.
