摘要在全球化背景下,跨文化交际发挥着十分重要的作用,跨文化交际能力的培养也已成为当前大学英语教育的重要内容,培养跨文化交际意识和能力因而成为英语教学中的一个重要任务和目标。然而中西方文化又存在着诸多差异,这就需要去发现文化中存在的差异,分析差异存在的原因,认识中西方文化差异对英语教学中文化教育的影响以及在英语教学的文化教育中处理好文化之间的差异并让学生形成文化差异意识、提高跨文化交际能力。本论文从认识中西方文化差异角度对英语教学中文化教育的影响以及在英语教学中处理好文化之间的差异入手,探讨英语教学中文化教育的重要性。8228

Title On Intercultural education in College English Teaching from the differences between Chinese and western cultures
Abstract
In the background of globalization, intercultural communication plays an important role. The cultivation of intercultural communication competence and consciousness has become an important subject and goal of college English teaching.
However, there are many differences existing between Chinese and western cultures. We need to recognize the differences and analyze the occurrence of them. We should also realize the influence of cultural differences on English teaching and improve students’ the ability of intercultural communication.
This paper endeavors to analyze the differences between Chinese and western cultures and their influence and importance on cultural education in English teaching. This paper also discusses the importance for college students to learn cultural differences between Chinese and western in English study.

1 Introduction
With the rapid globalization, cultural differences between China and western countries greatly influence English Teaching. Intercultural education becomes more and more urgent. The cultivation of intercultural communication competence and consciousness has become an important subject and goal of college English teaching. We need to recognize the differences and analyze the origins of them. We should also seek methods to deal with them and improve students’ ability of intercultural communication.
1.1 Definition
Generally speaking, culture refers to the total sum of the material and spiritual wealth created by human beings in the process of historical development, including three aspects respectively, material culture, system culture and psychology culture. Material culture refers to the human’s creation of all kinds of material civilization, including traffic tools, clothes, daily articles, etc, which are a visible dominant culture; System culture and psychology culture, separately, refer to life system, family system and social system and the way of thinking, religious belief, aesthetic temperament and interest, which are invisible and which belong to the recessive culture.
