Abstract To discover essential features or the influence of translation ethics on literary translation, especially from the perspective of translator's choice of strategies, comparative research on two Chinese translations of George Orwell's Nineteen Eighty four is conducted in this thesis. The original work has come into possession of extensive political satire attention since publication, and its translations of Dong Leshan's and Liu Shaoming's have acquired much popularity among readers. 70018

By comparing some examples of two Chinese translations, the author finds that translation ethics is reflected in two translations: translators embody loyalty ethics, as well as cross-cultural responsibility and contribution to cross-cultural communication. At the same time, due to their different social and cultural backgrounds, their personal ethics are different. Mr. Dong has shown a conservative and rigorous way of translation, the pursuit of strict fidelity principles, and Liu's translation style with creativity and flexibility, the pursuit of translation literature and fluency. By studying the different translation strategies used in the two translations and combining with the above research results, the following conclusions can be reached: the personal ethics of the translators lay the tone of the choice of translation strategies, and the professional ethics affect the adjustment of the translators' Translation. When applying different translation strategies, it is necessary to use a variety of methods to implement specific strategies. It is hoped that this study will stimulate in the practice of literary translation, translation ethics is used to help the progress of translation learning.

摘要本论文旨在研究翻译对文学翻译的影响，特别是在翻译选择策略方面，比较研究乔治·奥威尔《1984》的两本中文译本。原著的作品自出版以来受到广泛的政治讽刺关注，董乐山和刘绍明的翻译在读者中受到广泛的欢迎。

通过比较两个中文译本的一些例子，笔者发现翻译伦理反映在两个翻译中：翻译者都体现出了忠诚的职业道德，以及跨文化的责任和对跨文化交际的贡献。同时，由于在不同的社会文化背景，他们的个人伦理不同。董先生表现出保守和有严谨的翻译方式，追求严格保真的原则，而刘先生的翻译风格具有创造性和灵活性，追求翻译的文学和流畅性。通过研究两种翻译中使用的不同翻译策略，并结合上述研究结果，可以得出以下结论：译者的语言文化知识决定了翻译策略的选取，职业精神对翻译过程中实际选词造句的调整有很大的影响；翻译应用不同的翻译策略时，需要采用各种方法来实现具体的策略。希望这一研究将激发翻译伦理在文学翻译实践中的应用，也有助于文学翻译研究。
