Abstract This paper is intended to make an analysis in the salvation of Chinese and Western religion。 Salvation is the same theme of Journey to the West and The Lord of Rings。 Journey to the West, as a Chinese work, has the feudalism characteristics。 Its salvation is about Buddhism and pays more attention on the baptism and forgiveness of sin。 It shows intensively heroism and mythology features, which reflect the yearning for wealthy and better life。 The Lord of Rings' salvation is based on the original sin。 Anyone can’t get rid of origin sin, so salvation becomes universal。 Only adhere to the hearts and abide by the faith, benevolence and hope can soul get salvation。 Throughout the study on the similarities and differences of salvation, it can help understand other countries’ culture and promote the integration of culture。 73368

摘要本文旨在探讨中西方宗教文化中的救赎精神。救赎是文化巨著《西游记》与《魔戒》共同的主题，《西游记》代表中国化，具有封建zhuyi色彩，它所传达的救赎注重佛教的观念，对罪恶的洗礼和宽恕，具有英雄zhuyi和神话色彩，代表了普通人对富足自由世界的向往。《魔戒》所宣扬的救赎观立足于基督教的原罪论，任何人都挣脱不了原罪的束缚，救赎便具有了普遍性，只有对本心的坚持，遵循信念，仁爱，希望，才能解救心灵，得到救赎。通过探讨救赎观异同，有助于理解他国文化，促进文化的交流与融合。

1。 Introduction

Salvation, as a concept of religion, it is in nature not only a kind of ways in thinking, but also a kind of spirit。 In the long history of Chinese and Western culture development, salvation becomes an important part of religious culture。 In comparison, the conception of religion in the novel is more obvious and authors' ideas are easier to be accepted。 In this comparative study of cross-culture from the perspective of religion, the researches of Journey to the West and The Lord of Rings are not much, not to mention the salvation。 So this paper may be able to play a role in filling the gaps。 Simultaneously, salvation of the two works has the typical meaning of reform and characteristics of times。 Therefore, this study can help to learn the evolution of religion and culture of ages, and help discover delicate relationship among culture, economy and superstructure。 Also, it gives readers another way to understand the novel and helps them learn more about salvation。
