Abstract: With the development of modern society, the pace of progress in China's various undertakings has been greatly accelerated。 Therefore, China's economic statistics is facing new opportunities for development。 In this new stage of development, opportunities and challenges exist simultaneously。 It is worth thinking and exploring how to grasp the opportunity, meet the challenge and give play to the advantages of economic statistics。 The social development makes more and more enterprises to understand the importance of statistics in digital applications, it is in the enterprise development, data collection and analysis of the status of other disciplines can not replace, is based on the economic statistics as an applied discipline in economics and statistics, increasingly reflect its importance。 We should not only recognize the development of economic statistics, but also make use of it flexibly in social life, economic development and discipline construction。 This paper will focus on the development of thinking on economic statistics, with time as the main line analysis of economic statistics characteristics, each period of the development process, development influence, and briefly put forward to promote the economic construction of our country。

21世纪是一个社会不断前进、经济快速成长的时代，各界人士对统计学研究与应用的需求也日益增多。经济统计学作为统计学的主要分支之一，统计学为经济统计学提供了很好的发展背景。中国统计学在2011年成为一级学科这一事件，表明着中国的统计学迎来了新的发展机遇、进入了新的发展阶段。统计学在社会成长、企业运营中发挥的作用日益凸显，可是还有不少人对统计学及其一些分支混合不清，譬如对经济统计学、计量统计学、数理统计学产生理解偏差。因此，社会的快速发展、统计学的应用需要都要求我们必须理清统计学与其分支之间的相关关系及发展前景，从而促进经济发展、社会进步。
