Study of Methods for Measuring the Time Constant of RC Circuit
Abstract: RC circuit is one of the basic dynamic circuits, the mastering of the transient process must firstly know the speed of attenuation-the circuit time constant τ. But in the circuit, because of the restricted resistance and capacitance parameters, time constant τ is often very small and difficult to achieve accurate measurement. In the paper, the measurement of RC circuit improved. Then, the rapid measuring method of time constant is derived by taking the features of the timeline symmetry of capacitance voltage waveform. Finally, the using of the simulation software proved the common method in the text. In the conclusion, the voltage waveform symmetry is the best experiment program and should be popularized in the teaching and engineering.
