English writing, as one of the most important means of communication, plays a significant role in people’s life, especially for students learning English。 As for Chinese students, writing is one of the four basic language skills, and it is necessary for them to command the basic skills of writing。 However, English writing also seems the most difficult part of English learning process。 Many students are confused when they are asked to write a composition and always make errors in their writings。
Although teachers have devoted many efforts in teaching English writing, students still make a lot of errors which are difficult for them to deal with。 Students cannot express themselves fluently and clearly since they have so many subjects to focus on in junior high school and do not have sufficient input。 What’s more, the lack of language basic knowledge makes students fail to write in a correct way。 In addition, many teachers only focus on the good expressions and sentences that can help students get high points but seldom analyze the errors students make when they explain compositions。 Therefore, students cannot understand their errors in depth and cannot make a progress in next writing task。
However, writing is so important in their study life that they cannot avoid it。 According to the newest test syllabus of many cities in Zhejiang Province, the score of English writing has risen to 20 points。 Comparing to the previous writing tasks, the new requirement of writing is quite a challenge for junior high school students。 As the writing part holds a considerable position in the high school enrollment examination, and the difficulty of writing also increases, it is necessary for both junior high school teachers and students to lay much emphasis on the instruction of English writing。 论文网
