Abstract This paper holds that students' English reading ability is influenced by psychological factors, knowledge factors, language factors and strategy factors。 It is based on information processing theory and tries to improve students' English reading ability 。 Then it puts forward four strategies for improving the students' English reading ability including Introducing background information, carrying out integrated reading activities, focusing on explaining and performing output practice 。 Finally, in order to guide students to read and help students improve their English reading ability, we will put these four strategies into practice。92786

摘要本文认为学生的英语阅读能力受到心理因素,知识因素,语言因素,策略因素等因素的影响。本文是以信息加工理论为基础, 试图探讨如何提高学生的英语阅读能力。提出了四种提高学生英语阅读能力的教学策略,即情境导入、整体阅读、重点讲解及交际练习。最后运用这四种策略指导学生阅读,以帮助学生提高英语阅读能力。

1。 Introduction

Reading plays an important role in the EFL teaching and learning in China。 People can understand the culture of English-speaking countries and master their language through reading。 The improvement of English reading ability can assist learners to master the structure of the syntax and the meaning of the words。 Students will learn a lot from reading。 Through reading, English knowledge has been consolidated。 Reading is also beneficial for the comprehensive development of language skills。论文网

English reading as the necessary capacity of international exchange and cooperation has become the basic quality requirements for modern human。 English as a language course, teachers should understand how to improve students' English reading ability。 It is very important for the majority of English teachers to find a new way to cultivate students’ reading ability。 The National English Curriculum lays a special emphasis on developing students’ reading ability。 New course books like New Senior English for China (NSFC) by People’s Education Press also attach due importance to reading comprehension。 (Cao 220)

Now many people are studying how to quickly learn the English grammar, how to memorize English vocabulary and so on。 Besides, teachers pay more and more attention to grammar translation and explaining without noticing cultivating students’ ability of reading。 It can indeed reinforce the student's foundation and be conducive to English learning, but too much emphasis on the basis of students and ignorance on the practical ability of students。 Although a short period of time can see the results, it is insufficient for long-term learning in the future。 Therefore, it is crucial to find a way to reinforce the foundation and facilitate students’ study in future learning。 People believe that reading can play such a role。 People often say that “the word does not leave the sentence, the sentence does not leave the paragraph, the paragraph cannot separate from the article”。 This shows the importance of English reading。 English learning is inseparable from reading。 However, few people are willing to study on how to improve English reading ability, because it is time-consuming and laborious, and improved cycle is too long。 In order to improve secondary school students English learning and help them get more information, it is quite necessary to cultivate reading ability。
