I. Introduction
Business English implies its definition of a special language corpus and emphasis on particular kinds of communication in a specific context. And it is our understanding of the business or trade under the scenario applied to English. We understand that spoken English is fundamentally different from business English, which is to meet the needs of the workplace for the speciality of covering the whole process of domestic or even international business activities. The core business of content on which to work is about to the job market as the goal of staff to Business English.
According to the investigation of business English in China from 2005 to 2015, we can reveal the following findings: (1) the number of business English papers, monographs, funded projects shows a yearly increasing trend and the research covers a wide range of areas but high-level achievements are rare.(2) hot areas of research include business English major, business English teaching, higher vocational business, business correspondence, business English translation, etc. (3) Economics and education pay closer attention to business correspondence, business English research than linguistics. (4) Non-empirical research predominates, but the gap between non-empirical and empirical research has been closing since 2005, while research adopting both methods is still limited. (5) There are more and more people employed in the field of business translation, which to some extent relieves the employment pressure and speed up the sound and smooth development of commercial activities.
From its concept of business English and the several findings, it is not difficult to find that the translation of business English is not just the simple E-C translation or C-E translation. We must be familiar with the basic translation skills and grasp its translation characteristics of business English.
The whole paper will be pided into five parts. The first part makes a brief introduction to the definition and current development of business English. The second part focuses on making analysis in detail on its features of business translation. The third part points out some necessary qualities of a good translator. The fourth part refers to some specific principles and strategies of business translator, which is the most important part of this paper. The last part will give a conclusion of business English, stating the significance of skills in translation. Meanwhile, translators should strive to improve professional ability. And at last, overall improvement should be carried out in business translator.
II. The Linguistic Features of Business English
2.1 Accuracy
It is known that business English is involved in every aspects of business activity so even a tiny mistake of one word or letter in translation could cause great financial loss, which requires that translated text should be accurate and formal.
