Abstract This thesis mainly analyzes the similarities and differences between        Chinese and English traditional female images through the comparison between Lin Daiyu and Jane Eyre, the heroines of A Dream of Red Mansions and Jane Eyre。 Lin Daiyu and Jane Eyre can be said to be the representative figures who awoke the women consciousness from the image of women in society at that time。 Lin Daiyu and Jane Eyre had the similar fate, they lost their parents when they were young, so they could only sojourn with relatives; they both had different degrees of rebelliousness; they were all longing for love。 However, they came to different endings under the different time backgrounds。 This thesis first analyses the traditional female images in China and Britain。 Then, it illustrates the similarities and differences between Chinese and English traditional female images through the similarities and differences of Lin Daiyu and Jane Eyre’s characteristics。 94879

摘要本文主要是通过对《红楼梦》和《简爱》中的女主人公——林黛玉和简爱的比较来分析中英传统传统的女性形象的异同。林黛玉和简·爱可以说是当时社会上具有代表性的觉醒了女性意识人物形象，她们有着相相似的命运，都是在父母双亡的情况下寄居在亲戚家，都有不同程度的叛逆心理，都渴望爱情，可二者在不同的时代背景下，却走向了截然不同的结局。本文首先分析了中英传统女性的形象，之后通过林黛玉和简·爱的相同点和不同点分析比较了当时中英女性形象的异同。
